Bay Airstream Adventures has an immediate opening for a Parts Counter Associate!

The Parts Counter Associate is responsible for interacting with Service Advisors, Service Technicians and Guests about their parts needs. Will also be required to travel locally to obtain and/or purchase various parts.

Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities

  • To persuade and influence a Guest to make a purchase decision (from us) sooner or later preferably today.
  • Knowledge of the location of all parts and general knowledge of uses and installation techniques.
  • Ensure Guest satisfaction through efficient and timely processing of parts orders within the guidelines of company policies and procedures and by checking parts availability.
  • Verify prices and enter orders into computer.
  • Required to travel locally to purchase and pick up parts.
  • Analyze Guest requests for parts; provide parts information and prices from service manuals, reference materials and computer.
  • Ability to provide substitute parts information for obsolete/upgraded parts based on experience and outstanding orders.
  • Responsible for following up on back orders by checking with other parts personnel and sources to determine status of orders and provide answers to Guests.
  • Creating purchase orders to place parts orders.
  • Receiving ordered parts from manufacturer.
  • Providing accounting with proper invoicing and PO's.
  • Establish a good relationship with distributors, dealers, technicians, service centers and consumers in order to notify them of parts availability and shipment dates determined by tracking orders and/or invoices through the computer system.
  • Address complaints and resolve problems.
  • Communicate well with management from Sales and Service departments.
  • May utilize walkie-talkie/radios for communication with other Team Members.
  • Efficiently provides parts and appropriately bills out parts for Service Technicians.
  • May cross train to perform other duties.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Guest Service or Sales experience, preferred.
  • Experience working in parts department/area, preferred.
  • Knowledge of product and mechanical/electrical parts.
  • Valid Driver's License with an insurable driving record.
  • Experience interacting with customers over the phone, face-to-face and email.
  • Strong computer skills required, experience in Office 365 (excel, word, outlook)
  • Experience utilizing various inventory databases.
  • Ability to read and interpret product documents.

  • May need to climb ladders, stairs or scaffolding on a daily or weekly basis.
  • Must be able to regularly lift and carry items up to 25 pounds.
  • Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Walking and Standing - Requires moving around throughout the day.
  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions; fumes or airborne particles; outdoor weather conditions.
